What should I do if my press release is rejected?

Posted: 22:30 Saturday, January 21 2006

If your press release has been rejected, don't panic, remember that the very purpose and design of the FPRC site is to help you get your story out into the media. We want to publish your press release.

However press releases are strange things, they are different to adverts and other types of promotional text. A press release is a starting point for a story for a journalist. Newspapers, magazine, TV shows all sell because of story, because of the human element. Adverts don't have that.

However don't despair, it isn't that hard. This is what I suggest:

1) Read the articles on the site about writing press releases.
2) Read some of the press releases on the site and get a feel for how they are written. Note, some are better than others.
3) Have another go. Submission is free. Once you succeed you can still upgrade your release to PRO.

Also in the future we will be offering a press release writing service for about $15 per release including the upgrade to PRO.

Also I am thinking about adding a "press release wizard" to the site which will aid the writing of press release.
